"How Well Do You Know New West?" Contest - Official Rules
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN.
1. CONTEST PERIOD:
The "How Well Do You Know New West?" contest (the “Contest”) runs monthly. A new contest period begins on the 16th of each month and ends on the 14th of the following month. All entries for a given month's draw must be received by 11:59 PM PT on the 14th of that month.
2. ELIGIBILITY:
This Contest is open to all legal residents of Metro Vancouver, British Columbia, who have reached the age of majority in the province.
3. HOW TO ENTER:
Each week, two (2) photos of businesses in New Westminster, BC, will be posted on our Facebook Page and in our newsletter. To enter, participants must correctly identify the business shown in a photo.
There are two (2) ways to submit an entry:
On Facebook: In the comments section of the contest photo post, tag the official Facebook Page of the correct business.
On Facebook or via Email: In the comments section of the contest photo post or by replying to the newsletter email, provide a direct link to the official website of the correct business.
Participants may guess on as many different photo posts as they like. Each correct guess on a unique photo will count as one (1) entry into the monthly draw. Multiple correct guesses on the same photo will only count as one (1) entry.
4. PRIZE:
There will be one (1) winner selected each month. The monthly prize is one (1) [Insert Prize Here, e.g., $10 Tim Horton's Gift Card]. The prize is non-transferable and must be accepted as awarded. We reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
5. WINNER SELECTION & NOTIFICATION:
A random draw will be conducted on the 15th of each month from all eligible entries received during the preceding contest period. The selected entrant will be notified within twenty-four (24) hours of the draw via the method of their entry (either by Facebook direct message or by email).
To be declared a winner, the selected entrant must:
Respond to the notification within forty-eight (48) hours.
Correctly answer, unaided, a time-limited, mathematical skill-testing question.
Provide a valid mailing address for prize delivery.
If a selected entrant does not respond within the allotted time, fails to correctly answer the skill-testing question, or is otherwise found to be ineligible, they will forfeit the prize, and a new potential winner will be drawn. The odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received during the contest period.
6. GENERAL CONDITIONS:
This Contest is subject to all applicable federal, provincial, and municipal laws and regulations.
By entering the Contest, participants agree to abide by these Official Rules and the decisions of the contest administrator, which are final and binding.
By accepting the prize, the winner agrees to the use of their name and/or likeness for promotional purposes without further compensation, except where prohibited by law.
7. FACEBOOK DISCLAIMER:
This Contest is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Facebook. By entering, you understand that you are providing your information to the contest administrator and not to Facebook. You agree to release Facebook from any and all liability in connection with this Contest.
Important Notes for You:
Fill in the Prize: Remember to replace "[Insert Prize Here]" with the specific prize you decide on.
Skill-Testing Question: A common example of a skill-testing question is (10 x 5) + 20 - 5 = ?. You must ask a question like this when you contact the winner.
Keep Records: Maintain a record of all entries to ensure a fair and random draw. You can simply write down the names of everyone who guessed correctly for each picture and put them into a hat or use an online random name picker.
Post the Rules: Make these rules easily accessible to participants. You can create a "Notes" tab on your Facebook page or link to a dedicated page on your website. When you post a contest photo, you can simply add a line that says, "See link in bio for official contest rules."
