Expressive art therapy offers a unique way to explore emotions, gain insight, and foster creativity by blending visual art, sound, writing, and other artistic mediums. This intermodal approach can be constructive for individuals who find it challenging to express their thoughts and feelings through words alone.

Why Art Therapy for ADHD?

For those with ADHD, art therapy provides a hands-on, sensory-rich experience that supports emotional expression, focus, and social connection. Engaging in creative activities like painting, sculpting, and writing can promote mindfulness and encourage participants to share their experiences in a supportive environment.

Event Schedule – Sunday, March 9

📍 Location: Arrieta Art Studio

🕚 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM: Social Hour (Free, Drop-in)

  • An informal gathering for adults with ADHD, as well as those who suspect they have ADHD or support someone who does.

  • A welcoming space to exchange tips, share experiences, enjoy snacks, and play games.

  • Arrivals are flexible—come when you can!

🎨 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM: Expressive Art Therapy Session (RSVP Required)

  • Guided by therapist Catherine Lamb, participants will engage in structured art-making activities designed for self-expression.

  • No prior art experience is needed; all materials are provided.

  • The session ends with an optional sharing and reflection period.

  • Limited to six participants to ensure a personalized experience.

This event is a great opportunity to explore creativity, connect with others, and experience the benefits of art therapy in a relaxed and supportive setting.

A unique community gathering in New Westminster is offering a supportive space for those who have experienced loss due to suicide, overdose, violence, or accidents. Co-facilitated by Angela Fama and Lyn Sakari, the event combines open conversations about death and grief with a soothing sound bath meditation.

The evening begins with a two-hour discussion using the Death Conversation Game, a deck of cards created by Fama to guide and support meaningful discussions about death. Participants are encouraged to share or simply listen, creating a space for reflection and connection.

Following the conversation, attendees will be invited to relax into a one-hour sound bath meditation, led by Sakari. Using alchemy singing bowls, the session allows participants to unwind, process emotions, and experience deep relaxation. Mats, blankets, backrests, and chairs will be available to accommodate different seating preferences.

This offering is designed to be inclusive and welcoming, providing a compassionate space for those navigating loss and grief.

💧 Why did the raindrop wear sunglasses? 😎

😎 To keep the light showers out of its eyes. ☔️
