🏒 New Westminster will be the centre of Canadian lacrosse this fall! The New Westminster Salmonbellies, fresh off their WLA Championship victory 🏆, have secured the right to host the 2025 Mann Cup Finals.

📅 The prestigious best-of-seven championship series kicks off September 5, 2025, at Queen’s Park Arena—a venue legendary for its electric atmosphere and passionate fans.

The Mann Cup is one of Canada’s most iconic sporting events, showcasing the nation’s top senior men’s lacrosse teams. Known for its fast-paced action and fierce rivalries, it remains a cornerstone of the sport’s history.

🔥 For the Salmonbellies, hosting the Cup is both an honour and an opportunity to bring the title back to the Royal City.

🏃 Terry Fox Run Marks 45 Years of Hope and Cancer Research Funding 🏃‍♂️ 

On Sunday, September 14, 2025, Canadians from coast to coast will lace up for the 45th Annual Terry Fox Run — one of the country’s most beloved traditions. This milestone event honours Terry’s dream of a world without cancer and keeps his incredible legacy alive.

The run is non-competitive, open to all ages and abilities, and best of all — there’s no registration fee! Walk, run, ride, or wheel at your own pace. Donations are encouraged (but never required), with every dollar supporting the Terry Fox Foundation, which has already invested over $850 million in cancer research.

Here in New Westminster, the run starts outside River Market at 10 AM, with registration opening at 9 AM. Bring your family, your friends, and yes — even your dogs on leashes are welcome! Participants will also enjoy free food and beverages after the run.

The Terry Fox Run isn’t just about fundraising — it’s about community, hope, and determination. Let’s come together, celebrate a Canadian hero, and take part in something truly inspiring.
