A New Westminster resident had a frightening encounter at home after an unknown man allegedly attempted to climb through a bedroom window in the Ginger Drive neighbourhood.
The New Westminster Police Department is investigating the incident, which occurred around 1 p.m. on September 28 in the 400 block of Ginger Drive.
According to police, the resident was home alone when she heard someone knocking at both her front door and a window. When she did not answer, she later heard what sounded like a bedroom window screen being cut.
Upon entering the bedroom to investigate, she saw an unknown man attempting to climb through the window. The resident screamed, prompting the man to flee.
Police described the suspect as wearing a black toque, a blue medical mask and a brown jacket. Investigators are continuing to review CCTV footage and forensic evidence gathered at the scene.
The incident serves as a reminder for residents to remain alert to unusual activity around their homes and to prioritize their safety if they suspect someone is trying to enter without permission.
The New Westminster Police Department is asking anyone who may have seen the suspect or has information about the incident to come forward.
Anyone with relevant information is asked to contact NWPD at 604-525-5411.
Salmonbellies fans, it’s time to secure your seats for another season of lacrosse! The New Westminster Salmonbellies Senior A Lacrosse Club has officially opened its exclusive renewal window for 2026 season passholders ahead of the highly anticipated 2027 season.
The team is thanking its loyal supporters by keeping season pass prices frozen at the same rates as last season, giving returning fans a chance to renew without paying more.
But there’s a deadline to remember: existing passholders have until midnight on November 11 to renew and secure their favourite seats before season passes open to the general public on November 12.
Holding onto a season pass also comes with important perks, including reserved seating and first priority for playoff tickets — benefits that dedicated fans won’t want to miss.
Season passholders should check their inbox for their renewal link and complete the process before the exclusive window closes.
Need to update your contact information or having trouble with your renewal? The team can be reached at [email protected] for assistance.
With prices staying the same and the renewal deadline approaching, now is the time for Salmonbellies supporters to get ready for another exciting season in New Westminster.
