🎨 River As A Muse at Anvil Centre

The New West Farmers Market is getting ready to send summer off in style with a Back-to-School Bash on Thursday, August 27, bringing an afternoon of free activities, swaps, music and market fun to Tipperary Park.

Running from 3 to 7 p.m., the special market will give families a chance to get ready for the new school year while enjoying some community-focused activities.

One of the new additions is a Stationery Swap, where shoppers can bring unused notebooks, highlighters, stickers and other stationery they no longer need and trade them for something new-to-them.

Kids can also refresh their wardrobes through a Kids Clothing Swap, giving gently used outgrown clothes a second life while helping families save on back-to-school shopping.

Music lovers can try something new with free ukulele lessons hosted in partnership with Mechanics of Music. Participants are encouraged to bring their own ukulele, although a limited number will be available.

The market will also feature a cooking demonstration led by some of the Farmers Market's vendors. Visitors can watch, learn cooking tips and take home recipes to recreate their favourite market dishes.

Adding to the festivities will be balloon twisting, face painting, live music and more.

The Back-to-School Bash takes place Thursday, August 27, from 3 to 7 p.m. at Tipperary Park in New Westminster.
