Let’s go, #NWKnights — the 2026 season starts with you! 🏆
With Daylight Saving Time ending this past Sunday, November 2, our evenings are now a little darker a little earlier — a great reminder to stay alert and visible when we’re out and about. Road safety is something we all share, and a few small habits can make a big difference this season.
🚶 If you’re walking: Wear light-coloured or reflective clothing, or clip on a small light to help drivers and cyclists see you. Always make eye contact before crossing and stay alert.
🚴 If you’re biking: Make sure your lights and reflectors are working and use your bell to alert others on shared paths. Slow down at intersections and crosswalks.
🚗 If you’re driving: Avoid distractions and keep an eye out for pedestrians and cyclists, especially when turning at intersections.
💡 Need a new reflector?
Stop by New Westminster City Hall to pick up a free pedestrian reflector at our info desk — while supplies last!
Together, let’s keep New West’s streets safe, visible, and welcoming for everyone this season. 💛
