As part of Homelessness Action Week (HAW), the New Westminster Museum & Archives and the New Westminster Homelessness Coalition Society (NWHCS) are inviting the community to take part in a meaningful guided walk on Columbia Street.
Participants will explore the cityβs housing history while learning about the challenges of homelessness from both a historical perspective and the voices of those with lived experience. Stops along the walk will highlight important sites and stories, encouraging reflection and conversation about housing issues past and present.
In addition to this historical lens, the walk will also share the ongoing efforts of the NWHCS, which continues to support and advocate for those experiencing homelessness in New Westminster.
