In the heart of New Westminster, there’s a law firm with deeper roots than most locals realize. Cassady Law LLP may have adopted its current name only recently, but its history stretches all the way back to 1911. With more than a century of legal service to New West and the Tri-Cities, Cassady Law has quietly become a cornerstone of the community.
Managing Partner, Dale Framingham, who first joined the firm as an associate in 1998, describes it best: “We are a full-service, community-based firm, committed to serving the needs of our individual and business clients.” From estate planning to corporate law, real estate, injury, and family law, Cassady Law offers a wide range of services.

Despite its longevity and reputation, some locals still say, “I’ve never heard of you!” To that, Dale chuckles and replies, “You must not have had many legal issues to deal with!” But if you’ve ever bought a house, written a will, or faced a legal dispute, there’s a good chance Cassady Law could have made the process smoother and perhaps more affordable than you’d expect.
Part of what sets Cassady Law LLP apart is its dedication to being more than just a legal service provider. They’re active participants in the life of the community, including long-standing sponsorship of local events like the Rotary Pot of Gold Charity Golf Tournament.
“We’ve been sponsoring the tournament for as long as I can remember,” Dale shares. “It mirrors our values and our commitment to the community by supporting worthy causes.” This year’s event supports the Lower Mainland Purpose Society and the Salvation Army, providing essential services to people right here in New Westminster.
Now entering its 29th year, the Rotary Pot of Gold Charity Golf Tournament is more than just a day on the green—it’s a celebration of generosity and connection. Since its inaugural round in 1996, the event has raised nearly $700,000 for local charities like the Lower Mainland Purpose Society and the Salvation Army. Last year alone, it brought in almost $40,000 for programs that serve families, youth, and those most in need across our city.
The tournament is a joint initiative between two local Rotary Clubs. Royal City Rotary launched the event in 1996, and the Rotary Club of New Westminster joined as a partner over a decade ago.

This year’s tournament will take place on Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at the scenic Mayfair Lakes Golf & Country Club in Richmond. Whether you’re swinging clubs or just soaking in the atmosphere, there’s something for everyone:
🎯 FOUR Hole-in-One contests—each offering a chance to win up to $50,000 in prizes (cash, a new car, and more)
🏆 Competitions for longest drive, straightest drive, and closest to the pin
🍴 Delicious food and refreshments are served throughout the course
🎉 A buffet dinner and awards banquet to close the day
💎 And yes, someone once won a $15,000 diamond ring—so it really can happen!
Can’t attend the tournament? There’s still a way to take part—the online auction from July 05 to July 27, 2025, lets anyone in the community bid on exciting items from the comfort of home.
For those who haven’t participated before, the Rotary Pot of Gold Charity Golf Tournament offers multiple ways to get involved. Whether you're a golfer or not, there’s something for everyone. “It’s a best ball tournament, so anyone can come—even if you’ve never golfed before,” Dale explains. “And if you can’t golf, come to the dinner. There’s networking, socializing, online auctions, and the famous wine draw, where someone walks away with all the wine bottles!”
With a website and Facebook page (run by a trusted team, since Dale openly admits to avoiding social media), Cassady Law LLP stays accessible while focusing on what matters most, delivering solid legal work and giving back to the city they have called home since 1911.
If you’ve ever wondered whether a firm could be both historic and approachable, Cassady Law LLP proves it’s possible. With over 100 years in the books and a clear eye on community impact, they’re not just part of New Westminster’s past—they’re actively shaping its future.

Visit Cassady Law’s website to learn more or connect with them for your legal needs. And if you’re looking for a good excuse to enjoy a summer day on the green—or simply a great dinner with neighbours—check out this year’s Rotary Pot of Gold Charity Golf Tournament. Who knows? You might even win that wine.

Big changes are coming to how we move through the city—and now’s your chance to help guide the way!
The City of New Westminster is planning new active transportation improvements along London Street and Eighth, Ninth, and Tenth Streets to make it safer and more comfortable for everyone to walk, cycle, and roll.
These upgrades are part of the City’s approved Active Transportation Network Plan, and the project is now moving into the design phase, with public input playing a key role.
👀 What’s Happening?
The City is designing the next phase of improvements and wants to hear from people who use these routes every day—whether you're commuting to work, walking your kids to school, or enjoying a bike ride around the neighbourhood.
💬 How to Get Involved:
• ✅ Stop by one of the City’s upcoming in-person pop-ups
• ✅ Or share your thoughts from home through a quick and easy online survey
🗣️ Community feedback will help shape the final designs and ensure they reflect the real needs of residents and daily users.
