🎤 Hit Musical Bear Grease Arrives in New West This November

A brand-new show has just been added to the upcoming Massey Theatre lineup — and it’s one you won’t want to miss. On November 27, 2025, Lightning Cloud and the Massey Theatre Society present Bear Grease – The Musical, an all-Indigenous, high-energy parody that has been taking North America by storm.

Bear Grease reimagines the classic 1971 musical Grease through a bold Indigenous lens, blending pow wow-inspired flair with hip-hop, comedy, and a wildly charismatic cast. Created by Crystle Lightning and Henry Cloud Andrade, the show transforms the familiar love story into a vibrant cultural celebration that has delighted audiences in more than 200 performances over four years. It is also only the second all-Indigenous musical to debut Off-Broadway, marking a major milestone in Indigenous theatre.

Ready to help shape the future of how we move through our city? An exciting community conversation is coming up — and everyone is invited to take part in imagining safer, more sustainable streets for all.

As e-bikes, e-scooters, and other new ways of getting around continue to grow in popularity, the City is hosting an interactive session on November 27 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Century House. The event brings together residents, students, seniors, and city representatives to explore how New Westminster can make its streets welcoming and accessible for every type of traveler.

Through idea boards, open discussions, and a lively panel talk, participants will have the chance to share what’s working, what needs improvement, and what a safe transportation future should look like. Whether you roll, ride, walk, or drive — your insights are essential.

Registration is encouraged, though drop-ins are always welcome.
