🍻 Beerlympics Returns to New West for a Night of Fun and Fundraising

One of New Westminster’s most energetic charity events is back this June as the 8th Annual WTF Beerlympics returns to the Royal City Curling Club in support of the Canadian Breast Cancer Society.

The event combines team games, friendly competition, and plenty of laughs, all while raising funds for breast cancer research and support programs. Teams of four will compete in a series of modified drinking games designed to test teamwork, coordination, and creativity in a lively tournament atmosphere.

Hosted by Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and supported by local breweries Steel & Oak and Steamworks Brewing, the event has become a popular community fundraiser that regularly sells out.

Beerlympics takes place June 6, with doors opening at 6:00 p.m. and games starting at 7:00 p.m. at the Royal City Curling Club in New Westminster.

Organizers encourage participants to bring their team spirit, enjoy responsibly, and remember the bigger purpose behind the fun — supporting Canadians affected by breast cancer.

🎨 Uptown New West Launches Call for Artists for 2026 Banner Program

Local artists have a chance to help shape the look of Uptown New Westminster.

The Uptown Business Association is now accepting submissions for its 2026 Banner Run, inviting artists to create original designs that will be displayed on approximately 48 street banners throughout Uptown.

Selected artwork will help bring colour, creativity, and energy to the neighbourhood while showcasing local artistic talent in a highly visible public space.

The call is open to artists across British Columbia, with preference given to New Westminster artists. Artists who applied in previous years are also encouraged to submit again.

The selected artist will receive $5,000 in compensation, with fabrication and installation costs covered by the Uptown Business Association.

Artwork submissions must be original and newly created specifically for the project. The submission deadline is June 1, 2026.
