Games, Giveaways & More

Big changes are coming to the New West Farmers Market — and they’re celebrating in a big way. Starting June 4, the popular community market at Tipperary Park will officially expand by one-third for the summer season, bringing even more vendors, local goods, and community fun to downtown New Westminster.

To mark the exciting expansion, organizers are hosting a lively Block Party celebration packed with family-friendly activities, games, giveaways, and special promotions throughout the afternoon.

Visitors can enjoy everything from a prize wheel, face painting, and balloon twisting to a kids bubble station, bingo scavenger hunt, lawn games, crafts, and more. Shoppers can also take advantage of membership appreciation discounts, giveaways, and even double stamps on market stamp cards during the event.

The expanded market will now feature 72 stalls instead of 48, offering even more opportunities to shop local, support farmers and makers, and enjoy one of New Westminster’s most popular weekly community gatherings.

The celebration takes place on June 4 from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Tipperary Park.

Soccer fans, families, and sports lovers are invited to kick off the summer season in a big way as the Fired Up for Football Kickoff Festival returns to Queen’s Park on June 6.

Hosted by the City of New Westminster and the New West Soccer Club, the free community celebration will feature a full day of soccer-themed activities, live tournament action, food vendors, and family-friendly entertainment.

The festival will include the popular Kelly Duke Memorial Tournament, alongside interactive attractions like human foosball, bubble soccer, soccer darts, kids’ soccer drills, and more inside the Fun Zone.

Visitors can also enjoy food stands, arena concessions, and a beer garden throughout the day while cheering on teams and soaking up the lively community atmosphere.

Organizers say the event is designed to bring the community together while celebrating the excitement and energy of the world’s most popular sport.

The festival runs from 10:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Queen’s Park, with activities taking place throughout the park and stadium grounds.
