Local entrepreneurs have an opportunity to help shape the future of New Westminster’s economy.

The City of New Westminster is hosting a Small Business Focus Group on Tuesday, April 14 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at City Hall (Council Chambers). The session is part of an update to the City’s Economic Development Plan, and aims to gather feedback directly from the local business community.

Business owners are invited to share their insights, challenges, and ideas to help strengthen and support a thriving local economy.

Spots are limited to one participant per business, and advance registration is required.

Police are asking for the public’s help following a hit-and-run collision involving a motorcyclist in New Westminster.

On March 28 around 5:30 p.m., officers responded to a crash in the 200 block of McBride Boulevard. Investigators believe a white van travelling northbound struck a motorcyclist before fleeing southbound from the scene.

The motorcyclist was transported to hospital. Their condition has not been publicly disclosed.

Police are now appealing to witnesses and drivers with dash cam footage to come forward. Investigators are also asking the driver of the white van involved to contact police.

Authorities say footage from the area could play a key role in identifying the vehicle and advancing the investigation.

Anyone with information or video from 5:15 p.m. to 5:45 p.m. in the area is asked to contact the New Westminster Police Department at 604-525-5411.
