Collectors, curators, family historians, and memory keepers — this one’s for you! 🌿 Collected Memory is coming this November, inviting community members to exhibit their cherished heirlooms and personal collections that tell the stories of loved ones and lives well-lived.

This unique event celebrates the deep connections between objects and memory, exploring what we collect today versus what our elders once treasured. It’s an opportunity to spark meaningful conversations around love, remembrance, grief, and legacy.

There’s no cost to exhibit, and public admission is by donation — making this a truly inclusive community gathering where every story matters.

📅 When: November 2025
📍 Where: Eighth & Eight Creative Spaces, New Westminster
💬 Who: Open to collectors, curators, and anyone with a story to share

It’s that time of year again, New West! From November 3–28, residents with curbside collection can set out extra kraft paper bags of leaves and yard trimmings, plus bundled branches, on their regular collection day.

An extra truck will be on the road during this 4-week program, so pickup of extra materials may happen at a different time than your usual green waste collection.

Tips for success:
• Use kraft paper bags and keep bundles under 50 lbs
• Branches must be under 3 ft long and 3 in thick
• Place bags and bundles 1 m from your carts
• Cover bags if rain is expected

🚫 Not accepted: plastic bags, food scraps, rocks, sod, or soil.

Help keep New West beautiful this fall — and spread the word to your neighbours! 🍁
