Educators, youth workers, community partners, and other adults who support young people are invited to attend Capacity Café on Wednesday, March 4, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the New Westminster YOUth Hub.
Offered in partnership with Purpose Society and Public Safety Canada, the facilitated session creates a dedicated space for youth to share their lived experiences while adults listen with curiosity and care. The conversations are structured and trauma-informed, designed to ensure a respectful and safe environment for everyone involved.
Participants will gain deeper insight into the realities young people face, a clearer understanding of how services and systems are experienced by youth, and valuable perspective to strengthen their work in schools, programs, and community settings.
Food and refreshments will be provided. Space is limited and advance registration is required.
Those who work with youth are encouraged to attend or share the opportunity with colleagues who may benefit.
Looking for a fun and meaningful Spring Break activity? Spring Discovery Days returns to the Fraser River Discovery Centre from March 14–29, bringing two weeks of hands-on exploration inspired by the mighty Fraser River.
From Indigenous traditions to salmon science, families can dive into interactive learning through creative, engaging activities running daily from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
🌿 March 14–21: Roots of the Fraser
Explore historic trade routes, learn how stream restoration helps salmon reach spawning grounds, try an Indigenous language matching game, and help build a giant community “Web of Life” art installation.
🐟 March 22–29: Then & Now: Learning from the River
Become a junior biologist with salmon tagging, compare fishing methods past and present, and uncover history in an archaeology dig.
Facilitated sessions run mornings and afternoons, with self-guided activities available all day.
Join the adventure at the Fraser River Discovery Centre, and celebrate the river that connects us all.
