Ready to get creative? Irving House is getting a colourful new mural, and everyone is invited to help make it happen!

On Sunday, October 4, head to 302 Royal Ave. during the New West Culture Crawl and join New Westminster artist Laura Kwok for a fun, hands-on afternoon of community art.

From 12–4 p.m., you can pick up a brush, add your own splash of colour and become part of a mural created by the community, for the community. And the best part? No art experience is required! Whether you’re a seasoned artist or simply curious to try something new, there’s a place for you to get involved.

Organized by the New Westminster Museum, this free event is a great way to unleash your creativity, meet fellow community members and help transform Irving House with a fresh burst of colour.

So bring your imagination and get ready to paint, create and make your mark!

Looking to grow your team this fall or winter? The Douglas College Fall 2026 Career Fair is bringing employers together with motivated students and graduates looking for their next opportunity.

The career fair takes place Tuesday, October 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Douglas College, 700 Royal Avenue in New Westminster.

Employers are invited to showcase their organizations, promote current and upcoming job opportunities, build brand awareness and connect directly with a talented pool of potential employees.

It’s a chance for organizations to meet Douglas College students and graduates face-to-face, introduce their workplace and find people who could become the newest members of their teams.

Registration is open for organizations interested in participating. Setup runs from 10:45 to 11 a.m., followed by four hours of career connections.

Whether you’re hiring for fall, winter or looking to build your future talent pipeline, the event offers an opportunity to put your organization in front of job seekers ready to explore what’s next.
