New Westminster’s holiday season is set to sparkle with the arrival of Churi at the Quay’s Christmas Market, a cozy indoor marketplace inviting local makers, artists, and small businesses to showcase their creations this December. Taking place at 810 Quayside Drive, the multiday market will run on December 15, 16, 17, 18, 22, and 23, turning the Quay into a festive hub of handcrafted goods and seasonal charm.

Organizers are seeking vendors who want to be part of this intimate holiday shopping experience, offering visitors a chance to browse unique gifts, artisan products, and one-of-a-kind items in a welcoming indoor setting. Applicants are reminded to bring their own table for setup.

As the Quay transforms into a warm gathering space filled with creativity and community spirit, residents and visitors alike can expect a joyful celebration of local craft and holiday magic. Vendor applications are open now through QR code or the link provided by organizers.

Audiences are set for a dazzling night of dance as the Royal Principal Ballet Company presents its 2025 Christmas Ballet Gala on December 15, running from 6 to 8 p.m. at 777 Columbia Street.

This year’s gala gathers award-winning choreography from top international ballet competitions, offering a vibrant mix of classical solos, expressive duets, and high-energy ensemble pieces—many enriched with multi-cultural influences. Every performance has been refined to the company’s signature artistic standard, promising a night filled with beauty, precision, and festive flair.

What makes this gala especially compelling is its extraordinary cast. Dancers range from talented six-year-olds taking the stage with sparkling enthusiasm to Vaganova-trained graduates and seasoned adult performers in their sixties. Each piece reflects hours of dedication, much of it rehearsed outside of their regular schedules, showcasing the passion that fuels this diverse artistic community.

Serving as a spirited preview of the company’s exciting 2026 season, the gala invites audiences to immerse themselves in the magic of dance, celebrate the hard work of local artists, and enjoy the warmth and elegance of this holiday tradition.

⛈️ Rain Joke of the Day 🌧️

🌨️ My wife asked me why Santa uses a big umbrella. 🎅⛱️

I told her, “Because of all the rain, dear.” ☔️
