The New Westminster Climate Action Hub is inviting residents to take part in the Climate Arts Build with the Intergenerational Climate Arts Collaborative, a free community event on Saturday, July 25, from 12:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. at 529 Queens Avenue, New Westminster.

The three-hour gathering will bring together artists, performers, musicians, writers, and community members to create original works inspired by climate action. Participants will have the opportunity to dance, sing, paint, draw, write, act, and collaborate on a community performance and art piece designed to encourage civic engagement and environmental awareness.

The Intergenerational Climate Arts Collaborative aims to use creative expression to spark conversations about climate change, amplify community voices, strengthen connections to the environment, and inspire hope through inclusive artistic experiences. Organizers say the event welcomes people of all ages and experience levels, encouraging attendees to bring their creativity, friends, and musical instruments.

Admission is free, and anyone interested in participating can register in advance.

Young aspiring magicians will have the chance to learn the secrets behind magic tricks this summer as Magic Max's Magic Camp comes to Centennial Lodge in Queen's Park, New Westminster, from July 27 to 30, 2026.

Presented by Arts New West Member Magic Max, the four-day camp is designed for children ages 6 to 11, offering a fun and interactive introduction to the art of magic in a supportive and creative environment.

Participants can choose between two daily sessions, running from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. or 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Throughout the program, children will develop performance skills, confidence, creativity, problem-solving abilities, and public speaking while learning a variety of magic tricks.

Each registration includes magic props to keep, an activity book, magic-themed crafts, and the opportunity to perform in a family showcase at the end of the camp.

Enrollment is limited to 10 students per session, and organizers recommend registering early. The four-day program costs $150 per child.
