⚖️ Former Recovery Worker Sentenced for Sexual Assault in New West

The New Westminster Police Department Major Crime Unit, with support from the Specialized Investigations Unit, has concluded an extensive investigation into multiple sexual offences involving Adam Haber, a former employee of an organization offering substance use recovery services.

In early 2023, police began investigating after women came forward with allegations against Haber. In total, 11 women provided statements to investigators. Haber was initially charged with three counts of sexual assault and, on February 26, 2025, was convicted on two of those counts.

On November 7, 2025, Haber was sentenced to three years in jail, placed on the Sex Offender Registry for 20 years, and is subject to court-ordered weapons prohibitions.

The NWPD commended the courage of the women who came forward and emphasized that support continues beyond the conclusion of the trial. Survivors of sexual violence are encouraged to reach out for assistance. The Victim Assistance Unit and community partners offer confidential and compassionate support.
