The New Westminster Police Department has shared an update on an investigation following the discovery of a deceased man in the cityโs Downtown neighbourhood. The body was found on April 29 near the intersection of Stewardson Way and Quebec Street.
After a thorough investigation led by the Major Crime Unit in collaboration with the BC Coroners Service, authorities have confirmed that the death was not the result of foul play. Medical examinations were conducted as part of the process to determine the circumstances.
The investigation involved coordinated efforts from the Major Crime Unit, the Forensic Identification Unit, and patrol officers. Officials acknowledged the emotional impact on the manโs family and expressed hope that the investigationโs outcome offers some measure of comfort during this difficult time.
Authorities extended their appreciation to the BC Coroners Service for its role in the inquiry, emphasizing the importance of inter-agency cooperation in reaching a conclusive outcome.
