TransLink’s newly announced partnership with PATTISON Outdoor is set to deliver high-tech improvements to transit services across Metro Vancouver, with New Westminster among the first communities to benefit.

Starting August 1, PATTISON Outdoor will manage all advertising across the transit network, including local buses and SkyTrain stations in New Westminster. As part of this system-wide refresh, outdated paper ads and older digital displays will be replaced with modern high-definition screens capable of broadcasting real-time service alerts, emergency messages, and customer updates.

For New Westminster commuters, these upgrades mean faster access to transit information, improved wayfinding, and a cleaner, more streamlined station environment. Key hubs like New Westminster and Columbia SkyTrain stations are expected to be among the early sites for the digital rollout.

The move also supports broader goals to reduce operating costs and minimize the need for physical ad replacements. TransLink says the shift will allow staff to focus more on transit service and safety rather than routine poster changes.

Transit advertising is a major source of non-fare revenue, and this new agreement is expected to increase financial support for local transit improvements. The modernized advertising system will also create new opportunities for local businesses in New Westminster to reach thousands of daily riders with digital promotions.

PATTISON Outdoor, one of Canada’s largest out-of-home advertising providers, brings over a century of experience in transit-based advertising and will lead the modernization effort across the region.
