With the Canadian Union of Postal Workers (CUPW) national strike underway, some residents and businesses in New Westminster may experience delays receiving bills, notices, and other important mail from the City. This could affect payments for utilities, property taxes, and other accounts, and itβs important to know that daily interest may still apply on outstanding balances.
To avoid late fees, residents are encouraged to take advantage of the Cityβs secure online services.
For electric utility bills, you can sign up for a Customer | Connect account to view your current and past bills, track your payment history, monitor your energy use, and even switch to eBilling.
For property taxes and utilities, a MyCity account allows you to access property tax details, utility accounts, licences, and permits in one place. Like Customer | Connect, it also provides payment history and eBilling options.
Finally, vendors or customers expecting payments through the mail are encouraged to contact Accounts Payable directly at [email protected] to discuss alternatives.
By switching to online tools or reaching out directly, residents and businesses can stay ahead of any disruptions caused by the postal strike.
