🎨 River As A Muse at Anvil Centre

Calling all gamers, artists, and pop culture fans! FANDOM ALLEY (PA²) is bringing a full afternoon of games, creativity, and community to the New West Youth Hub on Sunday, Aug. 16, from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Hosted by Phantom Alley, the all-ages event combines a geek-inspired art market with free pancakes, board games, video games, and social deduction games, including the popular Blood on the Clocktower. Guests are welcome to bring their own games or choose from the event's game library while meeting fellow fans in a relaxed, welcoming environment.

More than just a day of fun, the event also supports the New West Youth Hub, with proceeds from admission shared between the Youth Hub and Phantom Alley. Organizers are also accepting additional donations to the Youth Hub's fundraising campaign.

Admission is $10, and while walk-ins are welcome, advance registration is encouraged to help organizers prepare for the event. The gathering takes place at 502 Columbia Street and is open to fans of all ages.

Families are invited to celebrate New West Pride Week with a special Pride Storytime at the New Westminster Public Library on Wednesday, Aug. 5, from 11 a.m. to noon.

The free event will feature Carmella Barr and Weebee, who will lead an interactive hour of storytelling, singing, and dancing for young children and their caregivers. Designed to be family-friendly, the program celebrates themes of kindness, inclusion, self-expression, and being proud of who you are.

As with the library's other early childhood programs, caregiver participation is required, and families are encouraged to register in advance. Organizers note that Pride Storytime is an optional program offered as part of the library's diverse lineup of activities, allowing families to choose programs that best suit their interests.

The event is one of several activities taking place during New West Pride Week, celebrating diversity and fostering an inclusive community for all.
