🚒 The City of New Westminster is opening its doors for the Annual Fire Hall Open House on Saturday, October 4, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Glenbrook Fire Hall (McBride Blvd. & East 6th Ave).

This year’s theme, “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” highlights the importance of safe use, charging, and recycling of lithium-ion batteries to help prevent fires in homes and communities.

Visitors can go behind the scenes at the fire hall, meet local firefighters, and connect with emergency and community services across New Westminster. The family-friendly event features interactive activities, demonstrations, and educational displays—all designed to make fire safety engaging and accessible.

🔥 The event runs rain or shine and typically draws hundreds of attendees eager to learn, explore, and celebrate Fire Prevention Week, held each October in remembrance of the Great Chicago Fire of 1871.

🚀 The Royal Canadian Theatre Company is blasting off with a comedy that’s truly out of this world! They Came From Mars lands at Anvil Theatre in New Westminster on Friday, October 3 at 7:30 p.m.

😂 This lively farce follows a small-town theatre troupe attempting to stage their own sci-fi play. With only five actors taking on eight roles, a frazzled stage manager holding things together, and the playwright sitting in the audience, chaos is guaranteed. Expect physical comedy, quick changes, and plenty of silly surprises—including a tongue-in-cheek flower competition at intermission.

🌟 The show runs two hours with a 15-minute break, and a special relaxed performance with ASL interpretation will be offered on Saturday, October 4. Following the success of last year’s Murder Mystery, this production promises another unforgettable night of laughs.

🎭 Don’t miss this intergalactic comedy adventure—get your tickets here!
