🧸 New West Firefighters Launch Annual Holiday Food & Toy Drive 🍪 

The New West Firefighters have launched their Annual Holiday Food & Toy Donation Drive, inviting residents to help support local families now through December 19, 2025. Community members are encouraged to contribute non-perishable food, hygiene products, and new toys to brighten the season for households in need.

The drive accepts new, unopened toys suitable for infants through mid-teen years, including art kits, craft supplies, and other creative gifts. Donations can be dropped off daily between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. at any New Westminster firehall:

• Hall 1 (Main Drop-Off): 1 E Sixth Ave

• Hall 2: 820 13th St

• Hall 3: 1011 Ewen Ave

This annual campaign is a longstanding New Westminster tradition led by local firefighters, rallying neighbours to share warmth, kindness, and support for families during the holiday season.

New Westminster’s indie arts scene is set to shine at Holiday Gander 2025, a cozy community art market happening on Sunday, December 14, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Hosted at the Wildfires Bookshop Literary Lounge at 712B 12th Street, the event brings together independent artists, artisans, and craftspeople for a relaxed, inclusive holiday shopping experience.

Visitors can browse a curated selection of handmade goods, creative works, and unique gift ideas—perfect for anyone seeking something meaningful and locally made this season. Guests are also invited to enjoy a free warm beverage while supplies last and are encouraged to bring their own cup to keep the event low-waste and community-minded.

Registration isn’t required, and attendees are welcome to drop in at any time to explore the market, meet local creators, and take part in the friendly, artistic atmosphere. Organized by GeeseGoose Media Co-Op, the event highlights New Westminster’s growing indie arts community and its commitment to accessible, welcoming creative spaces.
