New Westminster is turning its annual arts celebration into an interactive adventure this fall, with a free digital passport for the 23rd Annual New West Cultural Crawl.

Taking place October 3–4, 2026, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., the citywide event will welcome visitors to artist studios, galleries, museums, cultural venues and special events across New West. More than 50 check-in opportunities will be available throughout the weekend.

The new gamified passport lets visitors collect points as they explore participating locations. Those points can then be redeemed for fun New West-themed prizes, adding a playful scavenger-hunt element to the cultural experience.

Getting started is simple. The passport is free, delivered instantly by text and email, and requires no app download. Visitors can check in by scanning QR codes at participating venues and track their progress from their phones.

Presented by Arts New West, the Cultural Crawl showcases the work of established and emerging local artists while turning New Westminster into a two-day celebration of creativity.

Need help setting up your passport? Visit Tourism New Westminster inside Anvil Centre at 777 Columbia Street.

New Westminster drivers and residents should prepare for ongoing traffic disruptions on Carnarvon Street between Eighth and Tenth Streets, as the City begins replacing aging water infrastructure.

The project started Thursday, September 17, 2026, and is expected to continue through November 30. Construction will require partial road closures, with motorists encountering single-lane or one-way traffic as crews move along the corridor.

Work is beginning near Eighth Street and progressing toward Tenth Street. Bus stops in the area may also be temporarily closed or relocated, with TransLink providing updated information.

Traffic control personnel and signage will be in place, but the City warns that significant delays are expected. Drivers are encouraged to use alternate routes when possible and allow extra time for their trips.

Once the watermain replacement is complete, Carnarvon Street will be repaved.

The project is aimed at renewing aging water infrastructure and improving the reliability of New Westminster’s water distribution system following a watermain break earlier this year.
