Legal questions can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re not sure where to start. The New Westminster Public Library is offering a helpful session designed to connect the community with reliable, free legal information and resources.

In collaboration with Courthouse Libraries BC, the session will introduce the free services available to the public, including legal resources accessible through library computers, as well as support available in person, by phone and by email.

Attendees will also get an introduction to Clicklaw, a searchable collection of legal information for British Columbians dealing with everyday legal issues. Topics covered through the resource include divorce and separation, probate, wills and tenancy.

It’s an opportunity to learn where to find trustworthy legal information and discover resources that can help people better understand and manage their own legal questions.

The session is available in person or online through Zoom, making it easy for community members to participate in the format that works best for them. Registration is required through the New Westminster Public Library.

New West is getting ready to celebrate, explore and connect through art, and “The Heart of the Crawl” is the perfect place to start! The special exhibition at The Gallery at Queen’s Park brings together work from more than 40 artists taking part in this year’s New West Cultural Crawl, giving visitors a colourful preview of the creativity waiting to be discovered around the city.

Running September 29 to October 25, the exhibition is open Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with an opening reception on Tuesday, September 29, from 6:30–8:30 p.m. Come take a peek, find artists whose work catches your eye and start planning your Crawl adventure!

Then, on October 3–4, the 23rd annual New West Cultural Crawl takes over five neighbourhoods with a self-guided celebration of local art and creativity. Visitors can wander through galleries, civic art spaces, creative venues and private home studios, discovering everything from pottery and jewellery to painting and photography.

It’s more than an art tour—it’s a chance to meet artists, explore creative spaces, discover something unexpected and experience New West through its vibrant arts community.
