Looking for free summer fun in New Westminster? Arts New West has your calendar covered.
Arts New West has unveiled its 2026 summer lineup, featuring weeks of free arts, music, poetry, workshops, and community events across the city. Whether you're shopping local, discovering live performers, or getting creative with the family, there's something happening almost every week throughout July and August.
Highlights include New West Craft at River Market every Saturday, where visitors can browse handmade goods from local artisans, along with the New West Craft Foodie Fest on August 8 celebrating local food vendors.
The River Market boardwalk will also come alive with Buskers on the Boardwalk, offering free live music, spoken word, and performances, alongside All Ages Art Workshops featuring hands-on crafts for kids and adults.
Literature lovers can enjoy Poetry in the Park at Centennial Lodge every Wednesday evening, while artists can join Plein Air in the Park to paint outdoors in Queen's Park.
On Tuesdays in July, Art in Moody Park combines live music and guided art workshops behind Century House.
All events are free to attend, making it easy to enjoy a summer filled with creativity, community, and local talent.
It may be summer, but the New West Farmers Market is already looking ahead to the holiday season!
Applications are now open for vendors interested in taking part in the 7th Annual New West Farmers Market Holiday Market, one of the city's largest winter shopping events.
Taking place on Saturday, December 12 and Sunday, December 13, the two-day market will transform the area in front of New Westminster City Hall into a festive destination filled with local makers, artisans, food producers, and small businesses.
Whether you're an established entrepreneur or launching your first handmade products, the market offers a great opportunity to showcase your work and connect with holiday shoppers looking to support local.
