New Westminster is getting ready to lace up for a morning of community, hope and movement as the 36th annual Parkinson SuperWalk comes to Moody Park on Saturday, September 12.
The annual fundraiser brings people together at more than 10 locations across B.C. to support the Parkinson community and help move research closer to a future without Parkinson’s disease.
The New Westminster walk begins at 11:30 a.m. at Moody Park, located at 600 Eighth St. Participants can walk alongside family, friends and neighbours while helping raise funds for an important cause.
Money raised through Parkinson SuperWalk supports Parkinson Society British Columbia’s programs and services, which provide valuable support to people living with Parkinson’s and their families. Fundraising also contributes to advocacy and research efforts.
Whether you’re participating, cheering from the sidelines or supporting someone you know, the event is an opportunity to celebrate the strength and resilience of the Parkinson community.
Fall is just around the corner, and the Crafty Cousins of New Westminster are celebrating the season with a free craft market featuring their latest handmade creations.
The Fall Craft Market takes place Saturday, September 12, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at 920 Twelfth Street.
The group has been busy creating seasonal collections inspired by the colours, textures and themes of autumn. Visitors will get a first look at their new fall offerings, with plenty of handmade pieces to browse.
Featured items include crochet creations, soy and beeswax candles, knit looming, dried lavender and more.
The market offers an opportunity to discover locally made goods, support independent creators and get a head start on fall shopping.
Admission is free, and the Crafty Cousins are inviting the community to stop by, explore their collections and welcome the new season with them.
