New West Farmers Market Is Already Getting Ready for the Holidays

It may still be the height of summer, but the New West Farmers Market is already thinking about the holiday season—and local vendors are invited to be part of the celebration!

The market is now gearing up for its 7th annual Holiday Market, set to bring festive shopping, local businesses and plenty of community spirit to the heart of New Westminster this December.

The two-day event will take place December 12 and 13, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. in front of New West City Hall.

With the Holiday Market among the city's biggest wintertime markets, organizers are looking to fill the vendor roster with a lively mix of businesses. Whether you're an established entrepreneur or launching a new venture, the market is welcoming vendors interested in showcasing their products to holiday shoppers.

For local makers, small businesses and entrepreneurs, it's a chance to get products in front of shoppers while joining one of New Westminster's festive seasonal events.

Interested in becoming a vendor? More information is available through the New West Farmers Market's website and social media channels.

The New Westminster Police Department says it has been educating drivers about the stop signs at Seventh Avenue and 10th Street since January. As the new school year approaches, that education period is now coming to an end.

Police say officers will begin enforcing the stop signs, with tickets being issued to drivers who drive through them.

The reminder comes at an important time of year. With students returning to school, streets around neighbourhoods can become busier with children walking, cycling and being dropped off or picked up by parents and caregivers.

For drivers, the message is simple: slow down, stop completely and make sure the intersection is clear before proceeding.

The police department is encouraging residents to share the reminder with friends, family and other drivers who may use the intersection.

A few extra seconds at a stop sign can make a big difference — especially when the school year brings more young pedestrians onto New Westminster streets.

📍 Location: Seventh Avenue & 10th Street
🚔 Enforcement: Tickets may be issued for failing to stop.
