🪧 Signs of Life at Foody World in Queensborough 😂
After years of waiting, there may finally be some movement at the long-promised Foody World location at Queensborough Landing.
While walking past the store yesterday, I could hear construction activity coming from inside. The windows have been covered for years, so there has been very little opportunity to see what, if anything, was happening behind them.
This time, the door had been left open — and I was able to get a rare look inside.
There were workers and materials visible, and what appeared to be shelving or store fixtures being assembled and installed.
The building permit posted at the site identifies the space as E300-805 Boyd Street and describes the work as a tenant improvement for Foody World. The permit was originally issued May 23, 2023, so this has certainly been a long-running project.
Does this mean an opening date is finally around the corner? We don’t know yet.
But after so many years of seeing covered windows and little visible activity, hearing construction and seeing work underway inside feels like a very hopeful sign.
We’ll be keeping an eye on this one.

New Westminster has moved into Stage 1 water restrictions, with residents now limited to watering their lawns once per week.
Under the restrictions, even-numbered residential addresses can water on Saturdays, while odd-numbered addresses can water on Sundays. Automatic watering is permitted from 5 to 7 a.m., while manual watering is allowed from 6 to 9 a.m.
Non-residential properties can water once a week, with even-numbered addresses permitted on Mondays and odd-numbered addresses on Tuesdays. Automatic watering is allowed from 4 to 6 a.m., while manual watering is permitted from 6 to 9 a.m.
There is more flexibility for gardens and greenery. Trees, flowers and edible plants can be watered any day, with automatic watering allowed from 5 to 9 a.m. and manual watering permitted at any time.
Stage 1 restrictions apply annually from May 1 through October 15, regardless of weather conditions.
