Get ready for a week where the impossible becomes reality. The Magic Festival is returning to Downtown New Westminster from March 23 to March 29, 2026, bringing world-class magicians, mind readers, and illusionists to venues across the city.

From intimate theatre shows and family-friendly performances to magical dinner experiences, the festival offers something for everyone — whether you’re a lifelong magic fan or just looking for a unique night out.

Here’s a quick guide to some of the magical highlights happening throughout the week:

🪄 Family Fun: Wacky Weekend Magic Show

Magician Magic Max brings a high-energy, laugh-out-loud magic show designed for kids and families. Expect interactive tricks, comedy, and plenty of surprises.

♠️ Up-Close Magic: 52 & You

Two-time world champion magician Shawn Farquhar delivers an interactive card magic experience using decks supplied by the audience. Seating is limited, making this an incredibly intimate show.

🎭 Cabaret of Wonders

Award-winning magicians Billy Hsueh and Alex Zander host a daring magic cabaret featuring mind reading, sleight of hand, and uncensored comedy — all just feet away from the audience.

🍽️ Mystery, Magic & Dinner

Internationally acclaimed magicians take the stage for a special edition of Cabaret of Wonders, featuring spectacular sleight of hand and mind-reading performances.

🧒 Children’s Magician of the Year Competition

Families can watch talented performers compete for the Children’s Magician of the Year title — with the audience helping decide the winner.

With limited seating for many performances, early booking is recommended. Expect intimate venues, incredible illusions, and unforgettable moments throughout the week.

Love craft beer and community events? Steel & Oak Brewing Co. is looking for a Brand Ambassador to join its events team.

This exciting role goes beyond the brewery, taking you out into the community to represent Steel & Oak at festivals, tastings, charity events, and more. As a Brand Ambassador, you’ll help showcase the brewery’s products while connecting with beer lovers across the region.

Responsibilities include pouring beer, assisting with event setup and takedown, and helping create memorable experiences for guests. It’s a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working events and being part of a fun, energetic team.

The ideal candidate will be available part-time Thursday through Sunday, have a valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation, and some experience working events.
