Get ready for an unforgettable night at the theatre! The Vagabond Players are kicking off their new season with Making A Killing, a dark comedy packed with twists, turns, and plenty of laughs. The show runs September 18 to October 5 at the Bernie Legge Theatre in Queen’s Park, New Westminster.
The story follows a Broadway playwright who teams up with his scheming producer and glamorous actress wife on a wild plan to fake his own suicide—all in the name of ensuring their new play’s success. But when the supposedly “dead” playwright starts to regret his part in the plot, the scheme takes a wickedly funny turn. Can his wife and producer convince him to stick with the plan, or will things take a deadly serious twist? To complicate matters even more, a sharp-tongued agent starts piecing together the truth, creating chaos for everyone involved.
Expect an evening of suspense, clever comedy, and edge-of-your-seat fun as this theatrical caper unfolds on stage.
Don’t miss your chance to be part of the excitement—grab your tickets now and see who comes out on top in this deliciously devious play!
Big changes are on the horizon for housing in New Westminster. The City is updating its key housing policies and bylaws, which will help guide the types of homes that can be built in the community—from duplexes to apartment towers, and everything in between.
Because housing can be a big (and sometimes complicated) topic, the City is inviting residents to drop by one of four pop-up info booths this September. Staff will be on hand to chat about what’s changing, answer questions, and explain what the updates could mean for your neighbourhood.
Here’s where you can find the pop-ups this month:
Thursday, Sept. 4 | 3–7 pm — New West Farmers Market, Tipperary Park (315 Queens Ave)
Saturday, Sept. 6 | 12–3 pm — New Westminster Public Library (716 Sixth Ave)
Tuesday, Sept. 9 | 11 am–2 pm — Sapperton Plaza (411 E Columbia St)
Sunday, Sept. 14 | 10 am–1 pm — təməsew̓txʷ Aquatic & Community Centre (65 E Sixth Ave)
If you can’t make it in person, you can still get involved online. Visit the City’s engagement site to learn more, share your thoughts, and see how these changes could shape the future of housing in New Westminster.
