Get ready for an afternoon of music, community, and waterfront fun as the Mechanics of Music Fest returns to Westminster Pier Park on June 27.

The New Westminster festival promises a celebration of local talent and summer energy, bringing performers, music lovers, families, and community members together in one of the city's most scenic outdoor spaces.

Organizers are inviting people of all ages and skill levels to get involved, whether by taking the stage, volunteering behind the scenes, or simply coming out to enjoy the performances. While the full lineup is still under wraps, attendees can expect a welcoming atmosphere filled with live music, community spirit, and plenty of opportunities to connect with fellow music enthusiasts.

Set against the backdrop of the Fraser River, Westminster Pier Park provides the perfect setting for a day of outdoor entertainment. Festival-goers are encouraged to bring a picnic blanket, gather friends and family, and enjoy a relaxing summer day by the waterfront.

More details about performers, volunteers, and event activities will be announced in the coming weeks.

Fridays on Front is back, and the 2026 season is kicking off with a vibrant celebration of Filipino culture in the heart of Downtown New Westminster.

On Friday, July 10, Front Street Mews will transform into a lively festival space for Filipino Night, an evening dedicated to celebrating the traditions, culture, and contributions of the Filipino community.

Visitors can enjoy live entertainment, delicious food, family-friendly activities, and plenty of summer festival energy throughout the evening. Taking over the main stage will be DJ Carlo Fortin, joined by Jay and the BARKADA Hair & Studio team, providing the soundtrack for a night of music, dancing, and community celebration.

The event announcement coincides with Philippine Independence Day, adding even more significance to a celebration that highlights the rich cultural diversity that helps make New Westminster such a vibrant community.

As one of the city's most popular summer event series, Fridays on Front continues to bring residents and visitors together while showcasing local culture, businesses, and entertainment.

The festivities run from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. and admission is free.
