In New Westminster, BC, parking is rarely the reason someone leaves home. It is the step before something more important. A hospital visit. A class at Douglas College. A meeting downtown. Dinner with family. A stop at a local business.
For many people in the Royal City, Impark is part of that everyday movement. The company manages parking across North America and serves commercial, health care, education, municipal, and other locations. In New Westminster, that work connects to places residents know well, including Royal Columbian Hospital. (Impark)
The Story Behind the Business
Impark has been in the parking industry for decades. The company says it has been operating since 1962 and now works across hundreds of North American cities. Its services support property owners, visitors, commuters, patients, students, and people heading into busy urban areas. (Impark)
That may sound simple from the outside. But in a growing city like New Westminster, parking plays a practical role in daily life.
New West is compact, busy, and connected. People arrive by SkyTrain, car, bus, bike, and on foot. Some are coming for work. Others are heading to medical appointments, school, restaurants, shops, or community events.
When parking works well, it helps people get where they need to go with less stress. That matters in a city where space is limited and access is important.

Impark operates parking facilities for many types of locations. Its work includes commercial lots, health care parking, education sites, municipal parking, event parking, and monthly parking services. The company also offers online tools for monthly parkers to manage account details, vehicles, payments, and invoices. (Impark)
In New Westminster, one of the most familiar Impark-connected locations is Royal Columbian Hospital at 330 East Columbia Street. Public parking information includes patient and visitor parking, hourly rates, evening rates, 24-hour rates, and EV stall locations. (Impark)
That local connection is easy for subscribers to understand. Parking near a hospital is not just about convenience. It is about access during moments that can be stressful, emotional, or urgent.
Imparkโs support of Rotaryโs Pot of Gold Golf Tournament fits naturally with the role it already plays in the community. The company helps people reach the places they need to be. Through sponsorship, it also helps local fundraising move forward.
The Rotary Pot of Gold Charity Golf Tournament is a long-running New Westminster event. The 2026 tournament is scheduled for July 14, 2026, at Mayfair Lakes. The event invites sponsors, donors, and golfers to take part in raising money for local causes. (Rotary Pot of Gold Golf Tournament)
Rotaryโs tournament has become a familiar way for businesses and residents to support good work close to home. For sponsors like Impark, it is a chance to be part of something larger than one day on the course.
Mindset or Philosophy
A company like Impark may not always be front of mind. Most people notice parking only when they need it. But that is also what makes it part of the rhythm of city life.
In New Westminster, the little details matter. Getting to an appointment on time matters. Finding a place to park near a busy hospital matters. Being able to visit downtown, support a local business, or attend a community event matters.
The Pot of Gold Golf Tournament works in a similar way. Each sponsor, golfer, donor, and volunteer adds one piece to a larger effort.
From daily parking to local giving, Impark continues to play a practical role in New Westminster life. Its support of Rotaryโs Pot of Gold Golf Tournament helps keep a trusted community fundraiser moving.

New Westminster residents have access to a community-based alternative for mental health and substance-use crises through the Crisis Response, Community Led (CRCL) program.
Operating in seven B.C. communities, including New Westminster, CRCL sends mobile teams made up of mental health professionals and trained peer support workers with lived experience to help people in crisis.
The service is available for anyone aged 13 and older, with calls accepted from individuals in crisis, family members, friends, or concerned community members. Teams provide compassionate support, help de-escalate situations, and connect people with mental health, substance-use, and community resources.
Since launching in 2023, CRCL has responded to approximately 20,000 calls across British Columbia. According to a new report from the Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) BC, 98 per cent of calls were resolved without involving police or other emergency responders, with emergency services requested in fewer than one per cent of cases.
The province says the program offers a more compassionate response to mental health crises while reducing pressure on police and emergency services.
For many people facing a difficult moment, CRCL provides another option to get help when it's needed most.
Want to make a lasting impact in your neighbourhood? New Westminster is inviting residents and businesses to help newly planted street trees thrive through its Adopt-A-Street Tree program.
As part of the city's goal of increasing its urban tree canopy to 27 per cent, volunteers can become Tree Stewards by caring for a newly planted street tree near their home or workplace.
The commitment is simple: water the tree once or twice a week and weed around its base once a month from June through September. These small acts help young trees establish strong roots during their first three years, improving their chances of long-term survival.
To get started, check the city's online map to see if there's an eligible tree near you, complete the application form, and city staff will follow up with next steps.
The City provides the green watering bags, while volunteers use their own garden hose and basic hand tools.
Interested in becoming a Tree Steward? Visit the Adopt-A-Street Tree page on the City of New Westminster website to apply and help grow a greener, healthier community.
