Get ready for a spooktacular night under the stars! 🌙 The City of New Westminster and the Queensborough Special Programs Committee invite you to a magical evening of Moonlight Movies: Halloween Edition, featuring the beloved 1993 Disney classic Hocus Pocus!
📅 Date: Saturday, October 26, 2025
📍 Location: Queensborough Community Centre (920 Ewen Ave)
🕔 Doors Open: 5:00 PM
🎬 Movie Starts: 6:00 PM
Before the movie begins, enjoy a Halloween-themed craft that’s perfect for all ages! 👻 Once it’s time to settle in, choose a cozy mat or chair provided on-site—or bring your own blanket and snacks for the ultimate movie experience. 🍿🧃
This family-friendly event is sure to cast a spell of fun and nostalgia, so gather your ghouls, goblins, and movie-loving friends for a night of laughter and Halloween cheer.
⚠️ Can’t make it after registering? Please take a moment to unregister so someone from the waitlist can join in on the fun!
Grab your gloves and join the green team this fall! 🍃 On Saturday, October 25, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM, the Immigrant Services Society of Metro Vancouver (ISCMV), the City of New Westminster, and the New Westminster Environmental Partners are teaming up for a community stewardship event at Glenbrook Ravine.
This hands-on day of action focuses on replanting native species to help restore the ravine’s natural ecosystem. 🌱 Volunteers of all ages and abilities are welcome — no experience required! Whether you’re a seasoned gardener or just love the outdoors, there’s a way for everyone to contribute.
👨👩👧👦 Family-Friendly Fun:
Expect an inclusive, welcoming environment where kids, families, and individuals can dig in, learn about local ecology, and make a real difference. The event runs rain or shine, so come dressed for the weather and ready to get a little muddy!
🧤 What to Bring:
Closed-toe footwear with ankle support
Weather-appropriate clothing (hat, long sleeves, sunscreen)
A filled water bottle 💧
Work gloves and tools (if you have them — extras will be available)
A signed waiver (details provided at registration)
This planting event is completely free and open to everyone — you don’t need to live in New Westminster to join. Plus, there are five Glenbrook Ravine planting dates this year, so it’s a great opportunity to stay involved in ongoing restoration efforts.
🌎 Let’s grow something beautiful together!
