Grab a blanket and enjoy a movie under the stars as Movies in the Park returns to New Westminster this August with five free outdoor screenings at parks across the city.

Hosted by the City of New Westminster, the annual series kicks off on Wednesday, Aug. 5, at Westminster Pier Park with a screening of Back to the Future. The lineup continues on Aug. 12 at Moody Park with Ant-Man, followed by Lilo & Stitch (2025) at Ryall Park on Aug. 19, GOAT at Terry Hughes Park on Aug. 26, and concludes with a special back-to-school screening of Freaky Friday at Hume Park on Friday, Sept. 4.

The events are free to attend, with families encouraged to bring blankets or lawn chairs for an evening of outdoor entertainment. Guests are also invited to arrive early to enjoy pre-show activities and entertainment before the movies begin shortly after sunset. Event start times vary depending on the pre-show programming.

All screenings are weather dependent and will be cancelled if rain is in the forecast. Residents are encouraged to check the City's social media channels or individual event listings for updates.
