Love local history, hidden gems, and a little friendly competition? The New West Museum Quest is bringing museums and galleries across the city together for one exciting week of exploration during International Museum Week.

Starting May 18, residents and visitors can take part in a fun BINGO style challenge that turns New Westminster into one big cultural adventure.

Pick up a BINGO card at any participating location, collect stamps as you visit museums and galleries around the city, and earn entries for a chance to win a New West prize pack.

Complete one line on your card for one prize entry β€” or go all in and complete the full card for ten entries.

Participating locations include:

  • Fraser River Discovery Centre

  • Irving House

  • New Westminster Museum & Archives

  • Samson V Maritime Museum

  • Canadian Lacrosse Hall of Fame

  • New Media Gallery

  • Community Art Gallery

  • The Gallery at Queen’s Park

  • New Westminster Community Sports Hall of Fame

This is the perfect excuse to spend the week discovering local stories, art, history, and waterfront treasures you may have never explored before.

Whether you are visiting with friends, family, or going solo, the Museum Quest is all about celebrating the creativity and history that make New Westminster unique.

Sunny days are here, and New West families are already making the most of spray park season.

Spray parks at Moody, Hume, Queen’s, Sapperton, and Ryall Parks officially opened earlier this month, giving residents a fun way to cool off as temperatures rise across the city.

From after school playtime to weekend park hangs, these popular community spots are once again filled with splashing, laughter, and summer energy.

Located near playgrounds, picnic areas, and washrooms, the spray parks continue to be one of the easiest ways for families to enjoy the outdoors together during the warmer months.

A quick reminder for visitors this week: spray parks at Queen’s Park, Hume Park, and Ryall Park will temporarily close from May 13 to May 15 for scheduled rubber surfacing repairs ahead of the Victoria Day long weekend.

To support water conservation, spray features operate on timed cycles. Just press the activation button and the water will start flowing.

Spray parks typically remain open through early September, making them a summertime favourite for families across New Westminster.
