A little more colour is helping make the renewed Massey Theatre feel brighter, friendlier and easier to navigate. As part of the renovation, thoughtful pops of colour are being woven throughout the building to create a welcoming experience for everyone who walks through its doors.

Outside, each of the theatre’s three main entrances has been given its own colour—green, yellow or red. The simple visual system helps visitors identify their entrance and remember which door they need, making it easier to find their way around.

The colourful touches continue inside, where different shades will help highlight important areas including the washrooms, studio lobby and elevator lobbies.

It’s a small but meaningful detail in a much larger renewal project, showing how design choices can make a community space feel more comfortable, accessible and inviting. As Massey Theatre prepares for its next chapter, these bright new features offer a warm welcome to audiences, artists and visitors alike.

Get ready for a crafty afternoon full of stories, imagination and colourful creations! As part of the New West Cultural Crawl, Kinder Books is hosting a fun Crow Collage Workshop on Sunday, October 4 at 1 p.m., led by local artist Nicholas Brancati.

Perfect for ages 4 and up, the workshop invites young artists to enjoy a crow-themed story before diving into a hands-on mixed-media art project. Participants can cut, layer and create their own unique crow collage using paper, fabric and a variety of textured materials.

There’s no need to be an experienced artist—just bring your imagination and get ready to experiment! Whether your little creator loves drawing, crafting or simply trying something new, this workshop offers plenty of opportunities to make something fun and completely their own.

Hosted by Kinder Books and sponsored by Arts New West, the workshop is a wonderful way for families to add a little creativity to their Cultural Crawl adventure. Come discover the fun of collage, make some art and let those creative ideas soar!
