A new connection to the stal̕əw̓asəm Bridge is now open to drivers, bringing a key traffic change to New Westminster.

The new Columbia Street on-ramp opened at 6 a.m. on Saturday, August 29. Drivers travelling westbound on East Columbia Street can now use the loop ramp to access the bridge.

With the new ramp in operation, the previous eastbound traffic restriction into Victoria Hill from East Royal Avenue has been removed.

Another temporary change is also coming to transit service. The temporary westbound bus stop for Coast Mountain Bus Route 102 on East Royal Avenue will be removed starting August 31.

The changes are part of ongoing work connected to the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project.

Drivers and transit users can find additional project information and updates through the Pattullo Bridge Replacement Project website.
