Discover the warmth of community and the richness of Indigenous culinary traditions at the Traditional Indigenous Food Workshop, hosted by the New West Farmersโ Market and led by 2MรฉtisWomen. ๐พ
Join in on Monday, October 27, from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Queensborough Community Centre (920 Ewen Ave) for a hands-on evening celebrating culture, connection, and good food.
Under the guidance of Lorelei Lyons, participants will learn to make traditional baked bannock and Three Sisters Soup โ a hearty, nourishing dish rooted in Indigenous agricultural practices featuring corn, beans, and squash. Using local ingredients and traditional methods, this workshop offers an opportunity to cook together, share a meal, and appreciate the deep stories behind each dish. ๐ฝ๐

Please note: This menu includes flour and dairy but no meat. Unfortunately, allergies cannot be accommodated. All participants share the responsibility of helping with clean-up โ a gesture that reflects the spirit of togetherness this workshop embodies.
