The countdown is officially on! New West Cultural Crawl 2026 is just one week away, bringing two exciting days of art, culture and creativity to New Westminster.

Taking place October 3–4 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., this annual celebration invites the community to get out, explore and discover the incredible creative talent found throughout the city.

Visitors can wander through artist studios, explore cultural hubs and dive into hands-on arts experiences. It’s a fun opportunity to meet local artists, discover creative spaces you may not have visited before and experience the many ways art comes alive in New West.

Whether you’re a dedicated art lover, a curious explorer or simply looking for something fun to do next weekend, there’s plenty to discover along the Cultural Crawl.

So grab your friends, bring your curiosity and get ready to crawl your way through New West!

October 3–4 — the creative adventure is almost here!

👉 Get Ready to Explore New West

Get ready for a night of dark poems, eerie tales and Halloween fun as the Royal City Literary Arts Society (RCLAS) invites poets and storytellers to step into the spotlight for Poets Wanted: Dead or Alive Open Mic.

The spooky literary evening takes place Wednesday, October 28, from 7 to 9 p.m., with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. at Centennial Lodge in Queen’s Park. The event is free to attend and open to everyone.

Hosted by Janet “Lady Raven” Kvammen and Chelsea “Athena’s Owl” Comeau, the evening will feature poet Steve Miller and short tales from author KT Wagner.

Got a dark, eerie or mysterious poem hiding in your notebook? Bring it along! Open-mic participants can read their own work—or channel the spirit of a dead poet of their choice.

The evening will also include a round-robin reading of “The Raven,” a costume contest with a prize and a Halloween treat-sharing opportunity.
