IPhotography enthusiasts in New Westminster are invited to sharpen their skills at an upcoming workshop hosted by the New Westminster Photo Club.

Tips and Tricks with New Westminster Photo Club takes place on Sunday, March 8, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at Studio 417, Anvil Centre.

The session will focus on practical guidance for those interested in exploring macro photography, insect photography, and creative techniques such as freeze-frame water drops and bubble photography.

Participants will learn about field techniques, ideal camera settings, recommended gear, and post-processing methods to help bring their images to life. The workshop is designed to provide hands-on insights for photographers looking to experiment with new styles or refine their technical skills.

Skilled immigrants looking to launch or advance their careers in Canada are invited to attend the Skilled Immigrant Hiring Fair 2026 on Friday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Douglas College’s New Westminster campus.

The free event is organized by Career Paths for Skilled Immigrants in partnership with MOSAIC, Back in Motion, YWCA BC, ISSofBC, and Douglas College.

The hiring fair offers job seekers the opportunity to connect directly with employers who are actively recruiting skilled immigrants. Attendees can network with industry professionals, explore current job openings, and learn more about career pathways in their fields.

Participating employers include the City of Coquitlam, Altis Recruitment, Western Community College, Developmental Disabilities Association, Douglas College, My Care Matters, and more.

Those who are not currently enrolled in the Career Paths program are encouraged to visit the service information table to learn how the program can support their employment journey in Canada.

The event will take place at Douglas College, 700 Royal Avenue, New Westminster. Admission is free.
