🙋 New Westminster Family Place Seeks Volunteer Board Members

Looking for a meaningful way to give back to your community? New Westminster Family Place is inviting passionate community members to help shape its future.

The long-standing local organization is currently accepting applications for its Board of Directors, offering a volunteer leadership opportunity for those who want to support children, caregivers, and families across New Westminster.

Board members help provide governance, strategic direction, and oversight while working alongside others who are committed to strengthening family well-being, inclusion, belonging, and community connection.

New Westminster Family Place welcomes applicants from diverse backgrounds, professions, and lived experiences. Experience in areas such as non-profit leadership, finance, fundraising, communications, law, governance, community development, or family support is valued, but a genuine commitment to the organization's mission is just as important.

Interested applicants are asked to submit a brief letter of interest and a resume by July 20, 2026.

⚽🎉Watch the Tournament Finale at Westminster Pier Park

The final whistle is almost here—and New Westminster is celebrating in style!

The City of New Westminster is inviting residents to Westminster Pier Park for the Fired Up for Football Finale Outdoor Watch Party on Sunday, July 19.

Bring your lawn chair or blanket and join fellow soccer fans as the championship match of the world's biggest football tournament is shown on the big screen. The free community event also features food vendors, family-friendly activities, and a live performance by Vancouver soul and R&B band The Vanrays following the match.

The event begins at 11:00 a.m., with the tournament final kicking off at 12:00 p.m. The Vanrays are scheduled to perform at approximately 2:15 p.m., with festivities wrapping up at 4:00 p.m.

As this is an outdoor event, attendees are encouraged to arrive early for the best viewing spot and bring sunscreen, hats, water, and a blanket or lawn chair. A water refill station and beverages will also be available on-site.
