Here’s your chance! The New West Farmers Market is now accepting applications for its Market Access Program—a fantastic opportunity for emerging food vendors to take their business to the next level.

🧺 What’s in it for you?

  • FREE booth space at the market

  • Access to equipment and display support

  • One-on-one mentorship from experienced vendors

  • A chance to get your product in front of real shoppers

  • Honest, immediate feedback and a chance to build your local following

This program is especially designed to support entrepreneurs from underrepresented and marginalized backgrounds, helping break down barriers to launching and growing a business in the farmers market world.

🌞 They’re looking for prepared food vendors to join the bustling summer season—with 9 Thursday markets running throughout July and August at Tipperary Park, from 3–7 PM.

Never sold at the NWFM before? No problem! If you’re new and excited to learn, grow, and connect with the market community, this is the perfect place to start.

Hey neighbour, have you ever wished your voice could help shape the future of New Westminster? Here’s a warm invitation to do just that.

The City is now accepting applications for the 2025–2026 Community Advisory Assembly—and they’re looking for people from all walks of life to take part. Whether you’re young or young-at-heart, a long-time local or new to Canada, renting your first place or raising a family, there’s a place for you at the table.

This Assembly isn’t like a typical City committee. It’s bigger, more inclusive (around 36 residents), and meets more often to really dig into the issues that matter. With the help of professional facilitators, the group focuses on honest conversations, shared ideas, and thoughtful advice that’s passed along to City Council and staff.

What makes it special?

💬 It’s all about open dialogue and real community voices.
🧭 It reflects the diversity of New West—age, background, culture, and experience.
🛠️ Supports are provided to help reduce any barriers to participation.
📅 It meets regularly and gets involved in a wide range of City projects and priorities.
🤝 It’s a permanent initiative, thanks to a successful pilot that ran from January 2024 to January 2025.

No previous experience is needed—just your willingness to listen, share, and help build a stronger, more connected city. And remember, this is just one of the many ways you can get involved. To explore even more opportunities for engagement, check out Be Heard New West.
