👮 Police Release Photos of Person of Interest After Columbia Street Assault

The New Westminster Police Department is appealing to the public for help identifying a person connected to a stabbing that took place on September 30th in downtown New Westminster. The incident occurred near the 400 block of Columbia Street, where a man was attacked and suffered multiple stab wounds.

Investigators have since obtained CCTV images of an individual considered a person of interest in the case. Police are urging residents to review the photos closely and share them widely in hopes of identifying the individual.

Anyone who recognizes the person or witnessed unusual activity in the area around the time of the assault is encouraged to contact the New Westminster Police Department at 604-525-5411, referencing file number 25-17066.

🚨 Swastikas Found on Cars Prompt Police Investigation on Nanaimo Street 🚓 

An investigation is underway in New Westminster after multiple vehicles were defaced with swastikas in what police believe to be related acts of vandalism.

The first incident was reported on October 3rd, when a resident discovered a swastika drawn on his vehicle, which had been parked overnight in the 1100 block of Nanaimo Street. During their investigation, officers located another vehicle in the same area that had also been marked with the hate symbol.

A second report came on October 6th, involving another car vandalized on the same block. Officers canvassed the neighbourhood for CCTV footage and collected evidence to help identify the suspect.

The New Westminster Police Department has condemned the appearance of hate symbols in the community and is working closely with the Provincial Hate Crime Unit, which has been briefed on the incidents.
