Calling all ghosts, ghouls and good boys! New West’s favourite Halloween pet fashion show is back for another round of adorable costumes, furry fun and spooky-season excitement.
The 2nd annual Howl-o-ween Paw Parade is coming to Tipperary Park on October 22, and your four-legged friend could be the star of the show! Pet parents are invited to dress up their little monsters and show off their best Halloween looks at the pet costume contest.
From spooky to silly, cute to downright creative, this is the perfect chance to let your pet’s personality shine. And there’s even more incentive to go all out—participants will have a chance to take home some spook-tacular prizes!
The fun gets underway at 5:30 p.m. at the New West Farmers Market. Registration is available through the link in the market’s bio, so grab that costume, practise your best pet strut and get ready for an evening of howls, wagging tails and Halloween fun! 🐶👻🎃
Construction is getting underway on the London Street Corridor, bringing a series of safety and accessibility improvements to the neighbourhood. The City of New Westminster is starting work between 23rd Street and Eighth Street as part of its Active Transportation Network.
The project was shaped in part by community feedback gathered during public engagement in summer 2025, with plans adjusted based on what residents shared. Improvements will include traffic diverters, speed humps, curb extensions, sidewalk upgrades and new street lighting.
Work is beginning at 23rd Street, with construction expected to continue from October 2026 through spring 2027, weather permitting. Residents and drivers should expect lane closures, parking restrictions and changes to traffic patterns as crews move through the corridor.
The City says access to homes and businesses will be maintained, along with garbage and recycling services. Construction is scheduled for Monday to Friday, 7 a.m.–5 p.m., with Saturday work possible from 9 a.m.–6 p.m. when needed.
If you’re travelling through the area, keep an eye out for posted signs and detours, and allow extra time for your trip. Construction updates are available through the City’s Roadworks page.
