Calling all legendary bakers, pie lovers, and kitchen daredevils—Pie for Pride is back and tastier than ever! Whether you’ve perfected a classic blueberry pie, inherited a top-secret family peach recipe, or want to test your pastry skills with something bold and new, this is your moment to shine.

Hosted by the New West Farmers Market in support of New West Pride Society, the 2025 Pie for Pride contest is more than just a baking battle—it’s a celebration of community, creativity, and, of course, pie. Your masterpiece will be judged by beloved local personalities, and slices will be sold by donation to raise funds for Pride programming.

🥧 Winner takes home:
• $50 in Market Money
• Bragging rights as New West’s Best Pie of 2025
• The pride of seeing your pie support a great cause!

Get ready for a day of inspiration and togetherness! APTPOP and Arrieta Art Studio are teaming up for a special edition of Poetry Floodlight, blending hands-on creativity, heartfelt poetry, and neighborly warmth—all absolutely free.

This vibrant event invites the whole community to gather for art workshops, a community potluck, and the ever-popular Floodlight Poetry Night. Whether you’re an artist, a poet, or simply looking to connect, this day has something for everyone.

🖌️ Art in the Afternoon:
From 12–3 PM, kick things off with a Cyanotype & Mixed Media Workshop. Discover the magic of this historic sun-printing technique, then explore color and texture with oil pastels and watercolors.

📚 DIY Zines & Shared Stories:
From 4–6 PM, join a guided Zine Making Workshop. Express yourself while enjoying great food and even better company.

🎙️ Poetry After Dark:
From 6–10 PM, the stage lights up for Floodlight Poetry Night. Experience an evening of powerful voices and open mic magic. Interested in reading? Reach out in advance to join the set list!

🍽️ Ongoing Potluck:
All day long, the table is open—bring a dish, share a meal, and spark conversation.
