Looking for a space to share your voice or simply soak in local talent? Poetry Flood Night & Open Mic is coming to Arrieta Art Studio on Saturday, April 4 at 6:00 p.m.

This community-focused event invites poets, storytellers, musicians, and performers of all backgrounds to come together for an evening of creative expression and connection. Whether you’re an experienced performer or trying it for the first time, the atmosphere is welcoming, inclusive, and supportive.

The night will feature live performances followed by an open mic session, giving attendees the chance to step up and share their own work — or simply enjoy the creativity of others.

Admission is pay-what-you-can (suggested $10), helping support local art spaces and keep community events accessible.

Shop for Treasures at New West Thrift Sale

Looking for unique finds and great deals? A community thrift sale is coming to New Westminster this April, offering everything from women’s fashion to vintage treasures.

The sale takes place at Unifor Hall (326 Twelfth Street) over two days:

  • Saturday, April 11 | 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

  • Sunday, April 12 | 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

Shoppers can browse a wide selection of clothing, accessories, and one-of-a-kind vintage items, making it a perfect stop for bargain hunters and treasure seekers alike.

For those looking for the best deals, organizers note that Sunday from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. will feature a final clearance push, with many items marked down.

Proceeds from the sale will support the Stephen Lewis Foundation’s Grandmothers Campaign, helping provide care for children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa.
