🎂 Potluck and Birthday Celebration after service at Unity Church

A 39-year-old Surrey man has been charged with 17 offences following a break-in at a condominium’s mail room in New Westminster.

Police arrested Mark Forrest on January 19 after a resident called 911, suspecting a break-in was in progress. Following the arrest, investigators linked Forrest to multiple crimes, including theft of an automobile and possession of stolen property.

Forrest now faces 12 counts of break and enter, one count of mail theft, two counts of possessing break-and-enter instruments, and one count of possessing identity documents.

Authorities credit the swift response to a vigilant resident and emphasize the importance of reporting suspicious activity. The New Westminster Police Department continues to encourage residents to call 911 if they witness a potential break-in.

A suspect has been arrested following a series of vehicle break-ins that occurred over several months in New Westminster. Police have linked the individual to six different break-and-enter investigations, prompting the New Westminster Police Department (NWPD) to recommend 40 charges to Crown counsel.

One of the investigations began in an underground parking garage, where officers discovered 10 vehicles had been broken into. The incidents, which date back to October, all took place in the Downtown neighbourhood.

Authorities also determined that the suspect was breaching multiple court-ordered conditions at the time of arrest. The investigation was led by the NWPD’s street crime unit, with support from patrol officers, forensic identification specialists, and the criminal intelligence unit.

The suspect remains in custody as police continue their investigation. Officers are urging residents to report any suspicious activity, emphasizing the importance of calling 911 if a break-in is suspected.
