🌊 The Fraser River Discovery Centre is inviting the community to celebrate RiverFest with a free Quayside Tour on September 20th. 🚶‍♀️ This guided walk along the New Westminster Boardwalk highlights the many communities connected to the Fraser River, from local residents to the wildlife that depend on its waters. 🦆 Participants will discover the river’s cultural, environmental, and economic importance while enjoying a scenic stroll by the water. 🌿 Pre-registration is required to secure a spot. 🎟️

RiverFest is made possible thanks to the support of the Port of Vancouver as presenting sponsor, along with contributions from Global BC, the City of New Westminster, Ledcor, Loren Nancke, Tourism New Westminster, the New Westminster Legion Branch 2, and Arts New West. 🎉

Exploring New Westminster just got easier—and more rewarding—thanks to the launch of the New West Pass. This free digital gamified passport encourages both residents and visitors to discover local shops, restaurants, and cultural experiences while collecting points and unlocking discounts.

Participants can check in at partner businesses across the city to score exclusive offers and earn rewards. Points can be redeemed for New West–themed prizes such as mugs, tote bags, umbrellas, postcards, and entries into sweepstakes.

A wide variety of local spots are part of the pass, offering savings on food, retail, classes, and more. Highlights include:

  • Longtail Kitchen with a discount on its signature Pad Thai

  • BAK'D Cookies with savings on fresh treats

  • Orange Crush Velvet Vintage and Books with deals on books and clothing

  • Mosaic Art Studio with discounted handmade workshops

  • Vancouver Circus School and Yoga at the Quay are offering class savings

These are just a few of the many businesses involved, with more discounts waiting to be discovered. Signing up is simple—once registered, pass holders can start earning points and enjoying perks at each stop along their journey through New Westminster.
